Custom Precision Metal Stamping Parts FAQ

Find answers to common questions about quotations, samples, minimum order quantities, production lead times, quality control, packaging and after-sales support.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?
We are a direct manufacturer specializing in custom precision metal stamping parts. We support OEM and ODM projects from drawing review, tooling and sampling through mass production, inspection and shipment.
2. What information do you need to provide a quotation?

To prepare an accurate quotation, please provide:

  • 2D or 3D product drawings
  • Material grade and thickness
  • Dimensions and tolerance requirements
  • Surface treatment or finishing requirements
  • Estimated order quantity and annual demand
  • Application and working environment
  • Inspection and packaging requirements

When drawings are unavailable, you may send us physical samples, product photos or detailed specifications for an initial evaluation.

3. What is your minimum order quantity?

The MOQ depends on the part design, material, manufacturing process and tooling requirements. For suitable projects, we can support small trial orders of approximately 100 pieces.

For custom parts requiring new tooling, the final MOQ will be confirmed after our engineering team reviews your drawings.

4. Can I get samples before placing a bulk order?

Yes. We can provide existing samples for quality reference or manufacture custom prototypes and pre-production samples according to your drawings.

Sample charges, tooling costs and courier fees depend on the product. You may use your own DHL, FedEx, UPS or TNT account, or ask us to arrange the shipment.

5. How long does it take to receive a quotation?

We normally provide a quotation within 1–3 working days after receiving complete drawings and specifications.

Complex parts, special materials or projects requiring tooling evaluation may take slightly longer. Providing detailed technical information helps us quote more accurately and efficiently.

6. What is the typical production lead time?

The typical production lead time is approximately 7–20 days after order confirmation and sample approval.

The exact lead time depends on the order quantity, product complexity, material availability, surface treatment and tooling requirements. Projects requiring new tooling may need additional time, which will be clearly stated in our quotation.

7. How do you control product quality?

Our quality-control process covers incoming materials, first-article inspection, in-process inspection and final inspection before shipment.

For critical dimensions, we can develop dedicated inspection fixtures or gauges. Inspection records can also be retained for long-term quality traceability.

Production photos, inspection reports or videos can be provided when required.

8. How do you ensure the correct color for painted or powder-coated parts?

We confirm the required color according to the specified RAL color number or an approved physical sample.

Before mass production, the finished sample can be compared with the approved color standard. Color tolerance, gloss level and surface texture should be confirmed during the sample-approval stage.

9. How long will anodizing or powder coating last?

The service life of a surface finish depends on material preparation, coating thickness, application environment, exposure to chemicals, humidity, sunlight and mechanical wear.

Please tell us where and how the part will be used. We will recommend a suitable surface treatment based on the required appearance, corrosion resistance and expected service life.

10. How are the stamped metal parts packaged?

Packaging is selected according to the size, weight, surface finish and transportation method of the parts.

Common packaging options include protective bags, individual wrapping, separators, trays, cartons and plywood cases. Special packaging can be provided for delicate, coated or easily scratched components.

11. What are your payment terms?

Our standard payment term is usually a 50% deposit, with the remaining 50% paid before shipment.

Payment terms may be discussed according to the tooling cost, order value, production arrangement and long-term cooperation requirements.

12. What happens if defective parts are found?

Please send us clear photos, the affected quantity, batch information and relevant inspection data.

Our quality team will investigate the issue, identify the root cause and provide an appropriate solution. Depending on the confirmed cause and agreement, solutions may include replacement, rework or another mutually agreed corrective action.

We recommend confirming drawings, tolerances, inspection methods and acceptance standards before production to reduce quality risks.

13. Can we visit or audit your factory?

Yes. Overseas customers are welcome to visit or audit our factory.

During the visit, you can review our production equipment, tooling capabilities, quality-control process, inspection facilities and manufacturing workflow. Please contact us in advance so that we can arrange the visit.
